The Grand Circuit

For those seeking an adventure of the greatest caliber, American Wild Trekking presents “The Grand Circuit”: 19 days, 168 miles, 4 resupplies, every beautiful view in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

This expedition goes out once per year in the month of July. Limited to 5 participants. This backpacking trip is for those who truly desire to seek the solace of the mountains. We will be hiking along lakeshore, creekbed, mountain ridge, and mountain top. Our campsites will be as low as 1500 feet and as high as 6500 feet. It will rain, the sun will shine, more than likely we will see our fair share of black bears.

This is a long-distance backpacking trip.  Physical fitness is a requirement. We will be traveling light, with top of the line gear provided, all meals provided, and support provided.

Our route will circle the entire park, starting at Fontana Dam and following the Benton Mackaye Trail. We will finish the Benton Mackaye Trail through Great Smoky Mountain National Park and take up the Appalachian Trail through the entirety of Smoky Mountain National Park. At the conclusion of the trip, you will be a different person.

Trip cost is 4750 per person. A minimum of 2 participants are necessary in order to run the trip.
