Q: What is your PAYMENT and refund policy?

A: SECURITY Deposit:

A $400 per person deposit is required to secure your spot. The balance is then due 60 days prior to your trip start date. Final acceptance of any participant is subject to receipt and review of all required forms, documents, and payment.


REFUNDS:

The American Wild Trekking Company reserves the right to cancel trips. The American Wild Trekking Company is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by preparing for the trip (for example: non-refundable advance purchase air tickets, clothing, equipment, visa fees, medical expenses, etc.).

If you cancel or leave a multi-day trip for any reason*:

  • More than 60 days prior to the trip start date, we will grant you a full refund less a $100 per person administrative fee*.

  • Between 59 and 30 days prior to the trip start date, we will retain 50 percent of the trip cost.

  • Less than 30 days prior to the trip start date, or once the trip has begun, there will be no refund.

Q: What Gear does The American WILD TREKKING COMPANY PROVIDE?

A: At the American Wild Trekking Company we pride ourselves on mounting successful expeditions into the backcountry. All necessary group gear is provided to our guests.

This includes backpacks, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, group camping gear, water filtration, cooking gear, stuff sacks, plates, bowls, and utensils. As a guest on our expeditions you will never be asked to pay a gear rental fee or to provide any group gear while on one of our wilderness experiences. However, we do not provide personal clothing while on one of our expeditions. Check our personal gear list for our recommended personal packing list.

Q: Will meals be provided?

A: All of the meals provided while on your trip are nutritious and made fresh. Our goal is to provide a meal that feels like home while in the backcountry. We pride ourselves in never using pre-made freeze dried meals and our meal plans accommodate food preferences and dietary restrictions where possible. We hope the food we prepare while on the trail is one of the highlights of your experience with us.


Q: What is the payment schedule?

Q: What if the trip changes? Are there alternate trips?

A: All of The American Wild Trekking Company trips are subject to itinerary changes based on a variety of circumstances, including, but not limited to, permit availability, snowpack, river crossings, wildlife, park or land closures, and forest fires. At times alternate trips in different areas may be offered as substitutes. The price of a hiking trip will never change due to itinerary changes. Payments are not refundable for itinerary changes, alternate trips, and land closures. If a trip is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control and no alternate trip/itinerary is offered, a trip credit equal to the full amount paid will be issued.
 

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

The American Wild Trekking Company is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by preparing for the trip (for example: non-refundable advance purchase air tickets, clothing, equipment, visa fees, medical expenses, etc.).

Q: What is your transfer Policy?

A: Transfers from one trip to another are subject to the following conditions: 

  • More than 60 days prior to the trip start date, we may transfer from one trip to another with no associated fees.

  • Between 59 and 30 days prior to the trip start date, transfers are subject to a $100 per person transfer fee.

  • Less than 30 days prior to the trip start date, standard cancellation and refund policies apply.
